Yeah, that is right. I’m taking donations now. If you want to donate for one of my Pixelpost addons or just because I’m a nice guy
you can find the button underneath the latest upload on the photoblog.
I consider a small donation some kind of motivation to continue to develop and maintain nice addons for Pixelpost. So let the motivation begin.

The Clickable tags addon for Pixelpost 1.6+ is now going final. I fixed some bugs related to the javascript. Head on down to the download page and enjoy!
Here is a sneak preview of upcoming addons:
- Flash Thumbnail Scroller: I’m working on a major update.
- Defensio: The new way to combat SPAM (PP 1.7+).
- Edit EXIF: An easy way to change the EXIF as seen by your visitors.
- Flash Crop Image: Fully updated for Pixelpost 1.7.
- Watermark: Watermark an image at upload using a transparent PNG file.
- HTTP:BL: The addon that uses the Project Honeypot to block spammers.
- GoogleMap: Fully updated for PP1.7 and some nifty new features.
I’m waiting for the release of Pixelpost 1.7 to let these addons roam free.
Hmm, I must have been quite busy changing stuff to make two blogposts at the same day
Since I’ve lost some of my work (read about it) I have been thinking about automatic backups. A quick look in my controlpanel showed me that I was able to make jobs for Cron, a time-based scheduling service in Unix-like computer operating systems.
Since I have one main domain and two subdomains I figured it would be nice to have one backup with all the files and one with all the databases. Unfortunately due to the nature of the PLESK controlpanel I was forced to use a file backup script and a database backup script for each domain. I’m still thinking about ways to combine all three sites, but I have been unsuccessful in my attempts to do so.
Nevertheless I managed to setup the cron jobs and now a daily dump of each database is send to my Gmail account. The file structure for each site is send on a weekly basis. Some might wonder why I use a Gmail acount. Well, there are several reasons for this: 1) in the last issue I had my normal e-mail was also reset to a previous state; 2) lot’s of space (around 4.5 gigabyte of storage).
While I was updating stuff on the FTP I also updated to Wordpress 2.3.1, as well as some new plugins. I love the notification of new plugin versions in Wordpress. It makes keeping the blog up to date so much easier.

In the weekend of 3 and 4 November we got the Canon European EOS Discovery Tour in Utrecht and I’m going to attend. So…, what is the Discovery Tour?
Well, in a nutshell: it’s a collection of free seminars focused on the amateur- and professional photographer. We’re going to get to try the new EOS 40D along with some collection of Canon’s EF lenses.
Adobe and Apple will be there, talking about processing and having a ‘touch&try’ room. The Dutch Institute for Digital Photography (NIDF) is also there, talking about workshops and other educational things they got.
I’m pretty excited about all this.
The week after that we got another product seminar in Den Ham with loads of stuff from all major brands like Canon and Nikon, as well as shows and workshops.
So November is going to be pretty excited!
